George Brown Student Dental Plan Coverage (2026–27)
George Brown students who pay the Student Association insurance fee are covered by the student health and dental plan, managed by Alumo with claims through Desjardins Insurance. Every eligible student starts on the Balanced Plan and can switch to an enhanced option before the deadline each policy year. Here is what each option pays toward dental care in the 2026–27 policy year:

Dental Care for George Brown Students in Scarborough
Golden Mile Dental is a participating dental office in the Student Discount Network, and eligible students receive 20% off dental services. We bill your student plan directly.
Need to be seen quickly? Call (647) 490-6888 and we’ll fit you in. We hold time every working day for urgent visits and take walk-ins during office hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM to 7 PM, Friday and Saturday 8:30 AM to 3 PM.
Tooth Extraction
No one looks forward to having a tooth removed. If your dentist has told you a tooth can’t be saved, we’ll walk you through what happens next. Golden Mile Dental provides tooth extraction for George Brown students under local anesthesia. We explain each step and what to expect afterward. Extractions are covered at 75% on the Balanced Plan, up to your yearly maximum.
Root Canal Treatment
Deep decay or a cracked tooth can leave the nerve inflamed or infected. Root canal treatment relieves the pain and lets you keep the tooth. George Brown students can see our dentists at Golden Mile Dental for root canal therapy. It is covered at 75% on the Balanced Plan, up to your yearly maximum.
Checkups and Cleanings
A checkup and cleaning once a year is the easiest way to use your plan. On the Balanced Plan, your exam, cleaning and polishing are covered at 75%. We book around your class schedule.
Fillings
Fillings are covered on every George Brown plan option: 75% on the Balanced Plan, 85% on Enhanced Dental and 65% on the other two options. We confirm your cost before we start.
Emergency Visits
Toothache, swelling, a broken tooth or a lost filling? Call (647) 490-6888 during office hours and we’ll find you a same-day spot whenever one is open. Emergency visits are billed to your student plan like any other visit, up to your yearly maximum. Walk-ins are welcome.
Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth that are impacted or crowding the teeth next to them usually need to come out. Wisdom tooth extraction is covered at 75% on the Balanced Plan and 85% on Enhanced Dental, up to your yearly maximum. One visit can use most of a $650 maximum, so we can send an estimate to your insurer first and you will know your share before you book.
